Debashree Roy Biography
Debashree Roy, the quintessential Bengali beauty, was born on 13th June, 1964, in Kolkata. She was married to actor Prasenjit Chatterjee briefly, before they got divorced.

Debashree started her film career with Kuheli (1971), a horror film in Bengali.
She was seen a few years later in the Bengali film Dadar Kirti (1980). A love story, it did well.
In the English-Bengali-Hindi film 36 Chowringhee Lane (1981), she played the role of Nandita Roy. Written and Directed by Aparna sen, the film was received well not just by the critics, but also by the audience.
Debashree was seen in Bengali films like: Bishabriksha (1983), Bhalobasa Bhalobasa (1985), Pratikar (1987), Aparanher Alo (1989), Unishe April (1994), Asukh (1999), Ek Je Aachhe Kanya (2000), Antarghaat (2002), Abaidha (2002), Yuddha (2005) and Narak Guljar (2009).
She has also acted in Naga Panchami (1992), Baadshah (1992) Oriya films, with her husband Prasenjit. In fact, Debashree has appeared in a lot of Bengali movies with him.
